about

Just dropped a new conversation called ‘never ending work’ prod. By Illingsworth
What questions does the song raise for you?
Leave a comment I’m curious.

I've been processing A LOT these days. Also sitting with the fact that you won't please everyone, even when making work that deeply considers them. People can't and won't know your heart. This record is written directly to the Black creative/academic community. This is a call in writing with hopes that we stop assuming the worst in one another. What good is reading all those books if you’re not kind? How are those theories working out in practice? Liberation is not a monolith.

lyrics

Letting go of grudges
It be fucking with yo stomach
How you with the Abolition you holding to judgment
How we treat each other when budgets ain’t Abundant ?
How we treat each other when budgets IS Abundant ?
Look behind curtain
Everybody hurting
Ain't nobody perfect
Everybody clouty survial was the verdict
a bunch of hurt healers and nobodys surgeon? (we might need one)
Conflict is an offering,
Coming up for oxygen
delivered it and deliberate
Ya’ll caught up in appearances
I ain’t got no fear in this
I just let my spirit spit
I know what it really is
I Judge a book by it’s characters
My traumas not my heritage
The writer strike over but we all got a Narratives
Love is really common
They tried to make it scarce
Breaking all the silence
And really don’t care about your theories or your resumes I care about your kindness
Yo politic is obvious I care about who’s trying

I'm looking for the care with each other
Why we out here really trying to bury each other
Why we out here just trying to embarrass each other... idk its very WEIRD
its very...
coming from a place of hurt
I don’t have to understand elbows deep up in the dirt
Stories written on hands
Everything is really learned
This that never ending work
